GENERAL CONDITIONS :
The competition is held in Lviv from 14 to 19 December 2021.
Vocalists (academic vocal) – soprano, mezo-soprano, contratenor, tenor, baritone, bass can participate in the Competition in two age categories:
I — CATEGORY
From 16 to 21 years old inclusive (age of participants as of December 14, 2021).

II — CATEGORY
From 22 to 30 years inclusive (age of participants as of December 14, 2021).

The competition is held in three rounds (the first round is held remotely based on the submitted videos).

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION :
1. The Competition is open to singers of any nationality, residing anywhere in the world.
2. The basis for participation in the Competition is filling in the application form on the official page of the Competition — www.slipakcompetition.com and payment of the mandatory non-refundable registration fee by each contestant.
3. Candidates’ applications will be accepted from August 1 until 11:59 pm Eastern European EET (UTC +2) on October 31, 2021. Documents submitted late or incompletely will not be considered.
4. List of documents required for registration::
● copy of Passport or ID — card;
● full competition program (changes of II and III rounds’ program are permitted until November 15, 2021);
● a filled-in application with a competitive program (application on the official page of the competition — www.contest.wassylslipak.org);
● high resolution portrait color photo (JPEG, for use in the Competition booklet);
● short artistic bio (PDF);
● a link to the video of the first round’s program (YouTube).
Video Requirements:
○ video must be specifically made for the Competition, and recorded not earlier than August 1, 2021;
○ the Competition program must be recorded in a single take, without stopping the recording between pieces;
○ any editing of video or sound on it is prohibited!
○ recordings must be made entirely live, only with piano accompaniment (no pre-recorded backing tracks, no orchestra accompaniment).
5. The list of participants is published on the official website of the Competition — www.slipakcompetition.com. Contestants, who pass to the II round, will receive an official invitation via e-mail given in application form no later than November 15.
6. The registration fee for the contestants is $60 USD (payment in USD).

A copy of the payment receipt should be attached to the application form. Without confirmation of the registration fee participation in the Competition is not allowed. The registration fee is non-refundable!
7. If necessary, for an additional payment The Organizer of the Competition will provide a pianist for participation in II and III rounds. In this case, the participant must send the scores of the competition pieces to the e-mail address contest@wassylslipak.org.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF THE COMPETITION :

1. The order of the participants performances is determined according to the time and date of the submitted applications before the first round. The order of each participant performance is determined by the participant.
2. The Competition program must be performed from memory in the original language as written. All arias must be sung in original keys as written. Usage of pre-recorded accompaniment is not allowed. Each piece can be performed only in one round.
3. Members of the Jury do not have the right to exhibit their students on the Competition.
4. All Jury sessions are closed. Scale of evaluation is from 1 to 25 points. Announcement of the list of participants who have qualified for the next rounds is in alphabetical order. The final sum of points of each participant is announced after the Final Jury meeting. Winners are determined by the sum of points scored in two or three rounds depending on the category. The final distribution of awards and prizes takes place at the Final Jury meeting. The Jury has the right to award the Grand Prix.
Awards:
● the Competition’s Grand Prix
● one 1st place in each category
● Laureates of 2nd and 3rd places in each category
● Diplomas in each category
● Diplomas for the best performance of an aria from the Ukrainian composer opera and an
art song of the Western Ukrainian composer
● Diplomas for the best concertmasters of the Competition

5. The Jury and the management of the Competition will not announce or explain to the participants the reasons for their decisions. In case of controversial interpretation of the Regulations of the Competition, the decision is made by the Executive Director of the Competition.
6. Winners of each category are awarded with diplomas, valuable gifts, special prizes. Grand Prix,
1st, 2nd, 3rd places laureates – cash prizes. The Jury has the right not to award all the prizes or
divide them equally between the participants according to the level of program implementation. The Grand Prix can not be divided.
7. ATO/JFO members and children of ATO/JFO members are exempt from paying the registration fee.
8. The Organizing Committee has the exclusive right to audio and video recording, its
broadcasting on radio and television channels, placing on the Internet resources, photographing the participants of the Competition without paying the fee to the latter.
9. The winners of the Competition are required to make a free performance at the Concert of the laureates.
10. All the costs associated with participating in the Competition are covered at the expense of the participants or the party that employs them.

14.12.2021 (Tuesday) – registration, grand opening of the Competition (The Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic, Concert Hall)
15.12.2021 (Wednesday) – IІ round, І category (Lviv State Music Lyceum named after Solomiya Krushelnytska)
16.12.2021 (Thursday) – ІI round, ІІ category (The Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic, Concert Hall)
17.12.2021 (Friday) – master classes and creative meetings with the Jury members
18.12.2021 (Saturday) – III round, І and ІІ categories (The Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic, Concert Hall)
19.12.2021 (Sunday) – 12:00 the Concert of the laureates (The Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic, Concert Hall)

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
I — CATEGORY
From 16 to 21 years old inclusive (age of participants as of December 14, 2021).

First round
1. Aria from the opera, cantata, mass or oratorio written in the ХVІ-ХVІІІ centuries.
2. The folk song of the country represented by the participant.
Runtime up to 10 minutes

Second round
1. Aria from the opera of the composer of the country represented by the participant.
2. Art song of the Western Ukrainian composer of the XIX-XXI centuries (choose from the list
of composers below).
Runtime up to 15 minutes

Third round
1. Aria from the opera of the European or American composer of the XIX-XX centuries.
2. Art song of the Ukrainian composer of the XIX-XXI centuries.
Runtime up to 15 minutes

II — CATEGORY
From 22 to 30 years inclusive (age of participants as of December 14, 2021).

First round
1. Aria from the opera, cantata, mass or oratorio written in the ХVІ-ХVІІІ centuries.
2. Art song of the Ukrainian composer of the XIX-XXI centuries.
3. The folk song of the country represented by the participant.
Runtime up to 15 minutes

Second round
1. Aria from the opera of the European or American composer of the XIX-XX centuries.
2. Aria from the opera of the composer of the country represented by the participant.
3. Art song of the Western Ukrainian composer of the XIX-XXI centuries (choose from the list
of the composers below).
Runtime up to 20 minutes

Third round
Aria from the opera accompanied by a symphony orchestra (choose from the list of arias below).
