Application:

The competition is open to participants of all nationalities;

Main category comprises participants up to 32 years old;

The age of the participant is considered on the 31st of December 2024;

All the participants must submit a video recording until the 6th of April 2025 (see the topic Pre-Selection Round);

Participants that received lessons from a member of the Jury in the last three years can’t take part in the competition. In the event of any irregularity, the participant won’t be allowed to participate in the competition;

First prize winners from previous editions are not eligible to enter the same category in which they won their prize;

The participants of the second round that don’t proceed to the semi-final will participate in a shared recital, in different locations around the city, for which they will receive 500 euros;

The organization /scheduling of the Recitals concerning the prizes are responsibility of the institutions that offer the prize;

Registration in the competition presupposes acceptance of all the points mentioned in these regulations.

Awards:

First prize: 30,000 €
Second prize: 15,000 €
Third prize: 10,000 €

Repertoire:

Pre-selection (video – youtube link to be sent with the application form)

One Etude by Chopin or Liszt or Rachmaninoff
One movement from a classical sonata (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven)

Work of the participant’s own choice with a maximum of 6 minutes

First round
(max. 20 min)

One Prelude and Fugue by J.S.Bach
One fast movement from a classical sonat (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven)
One romantic piece of the participant’s choice

Second round
(max. 45min)

Recital Program that includes one classical sonata (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven – participant’s can repeat the one played in the first round) and one piece from the XX or XXI century

Semifinal

Chamber music recital, accompanied by a string quartet of soloists from the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música * .
