The master class will be held from September 10 in VERE MUSIC HUB (Kyiv, 21/8 Malopidvalna str.). Classes are held without an audience, but students, teachers, and professional musicians are welcome to come and listen to their colleagues.
The list of active participants of the master class will be made public, and the schedule of classes will be sent to all registered participants 1-2 days before the master class.
The master class is part of the VERE MUSIC ACADEMY program.

The musicians who will take an active part in the master class, as well as the schedule of classes, will be chosen by the mentor. We will announce this information 2-3 days before the master class.

After serving as concertmaster and leader of the first violins with the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Juilliard Orchestra, and occasionally with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Simon Bernardini has collaborated in the same capacity with the Orchestra and Philharmonic of La Scala in Milan since 2006, with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin in 2012–2013, with the Orchestra of Teatro La Fenice in Venice in 2013–2014, with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France from the 2017–2018 season, with the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino since 2019, with the Toscanini Orchestra of Parma since 2022, with the Human Rights Orchestra since 2013, among others. In the 2007–2008 season, he was also invited to serve in the same role with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks.
A close collaboration with Daniel Barenboim in various roles—most importantly as his concertmaster—led to extensive work at his side with the Staatskapelle Berlin. Bernardini has also collaborated for several years with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
As a soloist and chamber musician, Simon Bernardini has appeared in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall (1999, 2007, 2009), Lincoln Center and the Bargemusic Concerts in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the RAI Auditorium in Turin, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and the Philharmonie in Berlin.
His performances are regularly recorded and broadcast by radio and television stations worldwide. His recording of Franz Liszt’s piano trios was awarded the Diapason d’Or in 2007, and his first recording for Deutsche Grammophon was released in the 2013–2014 season.
Simon Bernardini is also active as a conductor on the international scene.
He has conducted on numerous occasions the Berliner Philharmoniker (making his debut with them at the Philharmonie in Berlin in 2008), the London Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, the Orchestra of the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Sinfonie Orchester Berlin, the ORT–Orchestra della Toscana, the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti of Naples, among others.
From 2016 to 2019 he was Assistant Conductor to Sir Simon Rattle, and has also held the same position with Steven Sloane and Gustavo Dudamel as part of the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Education Program.
He served as Music Director of the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra until the 2017–2018 season. Since the 2022–2023 season he has been Music Director of the Junge Kammerphilharmonie Berlin and, since 2004, Artistic Director of the Musica nei Borghi project—initiated by the Opera Barga Festival and held there until 2021, before moving to Bagnone in 2022.
He has taught at the Eastern Music Festival (USA), the Euroasia Festival in Seoul, the European Music Academy in Aix-en-Provence, the Festival de Música de Santa Catarina in Brazil, as well as at the Fiesole School of Music Foundation.
After serving for four years as professor at the Musikene University in San Sebastián, he joined the faculty of the Universität der Künste Berlin and was invited as visiting professor at Kyoiku University in Osaka, as well as at the universities Corpas and UniMúsica in Bogotá, the University of Oulu in Finland, the Eastman School of Music (USA), the conservatories of Milan, Turin, Reggio Emilia, Novara, Salerno, Bari, Reggio Calabria, Palermo, the Fiesole School of Music Foundation, the Encuentros de las Américas organized by the Dudamel Foundation in Mexico, Chile, and California, and the Simón Bolívar Foundation, part of Venezuela’s National System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras and Choirs (El Sistema).
Until 2024 he taught in the Master’s Degree program at the Conservatory of Reggio Emilia. Since 2022, the year of its founding, he has been on the faculty of the Villars Music Academy.
