1.1. The 6th International Solomiya Krushelnytska Opera Singers Competition (hereinafter referred to as the Competition) will be held in Lviv (Ukraine) from November 13 to November 20, 2022.

1.2. The Competition is open to the professional singers with special musical education and to the students of the specialized artistic educational establishments (musical specializations) from Ukraine and abroad.

The Competition is open to opera singers of all vocal registers and all nationalities who agree to the terms and who are not above the age of 35 (on November 13, 2022).

The Competition is held separately for male and female singers.

1.3. It is mandatory for participants to comply with the program requirements.

1.4. Previous Grand Prix winners of the International Solomiya Krushelnytska Opera Singers Competition may not apply.

2.1. All participants of the Competition must pay the application fee of 100 (one hundred) US dollars in the manner specified in paragraph 5.3 of the Terms.

If these terms are not respected the participant is excluded from the competitive auditions.

The application fee is non-refundable.

Bank details for the application (registration) fee will be published additionally on the official website of the Competition.

2.2. All participants are responsible for transportation to and from Lviv. The participation in the 1st Round is on account of the participant.

2.3. Housing and dinners for the participants of the 2nd and 3rd Rounds, for their concertmasters as well as participation of the winners in the Gala Concert are provided by the Competition founders.

2.4. Participants who arrived and refused to perform, as well as those who have not passed to the 2nd or 3rd rounds, may remain (on their account) until the end of the Competition.

3.1. The Organizing Committee of the 6th International Solomiya Krushelnytska Opera Singers Competition has established the following prizes for the winners:
Grand Prix 
10,000 (ten thousand US dollars) and the Title of Laureate;

Two first prizes (for male and female singers)
5,000 (five thousand US dollars) each and the Title of Laureate;

Two second prizes (for male and female singers)
4,000 (four thousand US dollars) each and the Title of Laureate;

Two thirds prizes (for male and female singers)
3,000 (three thousand dollars) each and the Title of Laureate;

Two fourth prizes (for male and female singers) –
1 000 (one thousand US dollars) each and the Title of Laureate;

The Competition Board reserves the right to set special prizes and awards for the Competition participants.

Special prizes:
500 (five hundred US dollars) – for the best performance of the aria from the opera of the Ukrainian composer;

500 (five hundred US dollars) and a diploma of “The best concertmaster of the Competition” (not more than two prizes).

Special prizes:
Audience Prize;

The certificate-invitation to perform the main part in the opera from the repertoire of Lviv National Opera during the 2022-23 season.

3.2. The jury may:

  • not award all prizes;
  • award an additional second or third prize if the first or second prizes are not awarded;
  • give diplomas to the best accompanists of the Competition (not more than two) and award an incentive prize. The prize is not awarded to concertmasters who are invited by the Competition Board;
  • award a participant one special prize i.e. the certificate-invitation to perform the main part in the opera from the repertoire of Lviv National Opera during the 2022-23 season.

3.3. All prizes are paid in national currency according to the exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine on the day of payment. The prizes are taxed according to the legislation of Ukraine.

3.4. Enterprises, institutions, organizations, public associations, charitable trusts, as well as individuals may award participants additional, special or other prizes at their own expense (with the competition of the Organizing Committee).

3.5. The winners of the Competition take part in the award ceremony and concert of the winners.

5.1. To participate in the Competition, the following documents have to be submitted:

  • application form, which should be filled on the official web site of the Competition www.krushelnytska.com.ua and the following documents should be uploaded:
  • professional resume (up to 1800 characters);
  • list of programme for three rounds of the Competition;
  • link to videos of performances showcasing opera arias (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.);
  • a recent photograph (jpeg format, at least 1600×1200 pixels), file size up to 5 MB;
  • proof of age (ID card or a copy of driver’s license) (jpeg format);
  • scanned copy of a diploma on musical education, for students – scanned copy of a document from the educational establishment (jpeg format);
  • consent to personal data processing in accordance with the Law of Ukraine on protection of personal data.

Submit online applications with the required documents on the Competition website www.krushelnytska.com.ua from June 1 to September 1, 2022.

5.2. Applications that are incomplete as of the deadline or misrepresented will not be considered.

The Competition Board does not provide the participants with medical insurance.

5.3. The Organizing Committee will send the confirmation to the participants that pass the pre-selection by e-mail by September 10, 2022.

The Organizing Committee will send an official invitation for a visa if needed.

The list of the participants could be found on the website of the Competition by September 20, 2022.

All participants who received the invitation are obliged to inform the Competition Board about the date of arrival by October 10, 2022, and to send a receipt for the application (registration) of 100 (one hundred) US dollars.

5.4. Foreign participants are personally responsible for passports and visas. Consultations on these issues can be obtained at the nearest Embassy or Consulate of Ukraine.

5.5. Changes in programs introduced by participants will be accepted up to September 1, 2022.

5.6. The Competition Board reserves the right to use all information and photographs submitted by the participants in media.
