Meeting with Antoniy Baryshevskyi and Roman Lopatynskyi in Kharkiv

The winners of the prestigious international competitions pianists Antoniy Baryshevskyi and Roman Lopatynskyi will meet with Kharkiv musicians, students and teachers. The meeting is dedicated to young musicians developing themselves and advancing their careers in the modern world.

This event was organized by the VERE MUSIC FUND within the framework of the XXV International Music Festival “Kharkiv Assemblies”.

Sunday, October 14, 11:00 am, the Chamber Hall of the Kharkiv University of Arts (Constitution square, 11/13). Free entrance.

And prior to this event Antoniy Baryshevskyi will play three masterpieces of late Beethoven, three of his last piano sonatas – No. 30 (Op.109), No. 31 (Op 110), No. 32 (Op 111) in the Great Hall of the Kharkiv University of Arts. The concert will take place on Saturday, October 13, 6:30 pm.

Antoniy Baryshevskyi is a Ukrainian pianist, soloist of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine. Prize winner of many international competitions, including the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition (Israel) and the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition (Italy).

He studied at Petro Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine in Kyiv and the École Normale de Musique de Paris “Alfred Cortot”. He has performed in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, Island, Russia, Belarus, Serbia, Romania, Poland, Israel, and the USA.

Antoniy has radio and TV recordings in Ukraine, Serbia, Italy, Denmark, and Spain. He released a few CDs featuring works by D. Scarlatti, C. Debussy, S. Rachmaninoff, M. Mussorgsky, O. Scriabin, H. Ustvolskaya under many labels, “Naxos” in particular.

Roman Lopatynskyi is a winner of multiple international competitions, including the prestigious International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Volodymyr Horowitz (Ukraine); F. Busoni International piano competition (Italy), and Hamamatsu International Piano Competition (Japan).

He is always the desired guest at such famous festivals as MITO (Torino); Newport Festival (Newport); Animato (Paris); Heidelberg Fruehling Festival (Heidelberg); Musikverein (Vienna).

Roman works closely with renown Ukrainian and international orchestras, including National Philharmonic Orchestras of Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Saarbrücken Radio Symphony Orchestra that made several recordings with the performer, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra.

Today Roman is actively conquering concert halls of Ukraine, CIS, Israel, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, Japan, USA.

The pianist is honing his skills in the International Piano Academy in Imola (Italy), in the class of Borys Petrushanskyi.

March 2016 the artist signed a contract with the Austrian Artphonia Agency.

The International Music Festival “Kharkiv Assemblies” embodies the Beethoven ideas of the unity of mankind with the help of classical music. This musical marathon lasts from two to four weeks each year. During that time concerts of students and teachers of the Kharkiv National University of Arts, Ukrainian and foreign musicians, as well as world-class master classes take place. The Festival was first held in 1991. International Competition of Musical Art “Kharkiv assemblies” is held within the framework of the Festival. In 2018, auditions will be held from October 7 to 11 in two categories – piano and vocals.
