VERE MUSIC FUND та ЦММ – Центр музики молодих announce the launch of a series of workshops for young musicians focused on performing new music. We plan to have three workshops in the 2023/24 season – in October, February, and April. All of them will take place in Kyiv, at the VERE MUSIC HUB (21/8 Malopidvalna St.). Each of them will end with a concert of participants and mentors.
Participation in the project is free. So if you’ve been wanting to try playing new music but haven’t had the courage, this is the chance to finally get started.
The first workshop starts on October 2. Over three days, from October 2 to 4, the participants will master one of the contemporary ensemble works written by American and European composers in recent decades: Julia Wolfe (USA), Ana Lara (Mexico), Jonathan Harvey (UK), Elliot Carter (USA), Franco Donatoni (Italy), George Apergis (Greece), and Salvatore Charrino (Italy).
Open individual lessons and ensemble rehearsals with young musicians will be conducted by experienced mentors: Ihor Zavhorodnyi (violin, viola), Zoltan Almashi (cello), Nazarii Stets (doule bass), Nataliia Kozhushko-Maksymiv (flute), Artem Shestovskyi (clarinet), Igor Boychuk (trumpet), Maksym Tryanov (guitar).
This work will result in the final concert, which will take place on October 5 at 19:00 also at VERE MUSIC HUB. Entrance by invitation with mandatory registration: https://forms.gle/C59HhF3rTueXXVnt8.
