He was born in 2010 in Kharkiv. Early on he became interested in music and from the age of 4 he played the piano. In 2016 he entered the Kharkiv Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School, majoring in piano. However, Korniy simply adored the violin and dreamed of learning to play it. So in the second grade he changed his instrument and started studying as a violinist in the class of Lyudmyla Varenina.
The young musician has participated in many national and international competitions. The biggest of them were: 2017 – Oscar Rieding International Competition for Young Violinists, Celje, Slovenia, Gold award; 2018 – Leonid Kogan All-Ukrainian Competition of Violinists and Cellists, Dnipro, First prize; 2018 – International Volodymyr Krainev Competition for Young Pianists, as a pianist he won Third prize in the “Debut” nomination; May 2019 – 3rd Leonid Kogan International Competition for Young Violinist, Brussels, First prize; 2020 – Violinwettbewerb der Internationalen Musikschule Berlin, Germany, First prize.
He participated in international music festivals. As a soloist, he performed with symphony and chamber orchestras of Kharkiv, Kyiv and Zaporizhia. He performed at the grand opening of the Kharkiv Regional Philharmonic in presence of the President of Ukraine in 2019. In 2020 he was invited to Davos (Switzerland), where he took part in a concert at the Ukrainian Dinner as part of the World Economic Forum.
In addition to the violin, Korniy continues to play piano and compose.
