Varvara is a Ukrainian violinist born in Kyiv and currently based in Switzerland.

Since September 2022, she has studied at the Hochschule für Musik Basel (FHNW) in the classes of Prof. Barbara Doll and Claudio Martínez Mehner. From April 2026, she will continue her studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin in the class of Prof. Antje Weithaas.

Varvara is a laureate of numerous competitions, including the Max Rostal International Competition (2024, Germany), the Oleksii Gorokhov International Competition-Festival (2022, Ukraine), the Odesa International Violin Competition (2018, Ukraine), and the Ysaÿe International Music Competition (2019, Belgium).

She has actively participated in numerous festivals and academies such as Geneva International String Academy (2024), Beethovenfest Bonn (2022), Riehener Serenaden (2023), Im Spiegel in St. Gallen (2023), Fiskars Summer Festival, Wolfegg Wintermusik, and Zwischentöne Engelberg.

Varvara has taken part in masterclasses with Leonidas Kavakos, Boris Garlitsky, Miriam Fried, Boris Kuschnir, and Robert Levin. She has also performed in chamber music formations with musicians such as Valentin Erben, Rafael Rosenfeld, Claudio Martínez Mehner, Winfried Rademacher, Silvia Simionescu, among others.

She regularly appears as a soloist both in Ukraine and abroad, including performances with the Sinfonieorchester Basel at Stadtcasino Basel, as well as in a series of charity concerts with the Mriya Orchestra at Berlin Philharmonie, Die Glocke, and Laeiszhalle. She also regularly collaborates with the Kyiv Philharmonic Orchestra.

Since 2023, she has been a co-founder of the Arda String Quartet (Basel, Switzerland).

Varvara plays a J. B. Vuillaume violin (1866), generously on loan from Wilhelm Geigenbau.

Since 2019, she has been supported by the VERE MUSIC FUND.
