Varvara Vasylieva

Varvara Vasylieva was born in 2003 in Kyiv. At the age of four she started playing the violin. She studied at the Mykola Lysenko Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School in the class of Olha Rivnyak and Vadym Borysov). Currently she is continuing her studies at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy (class of Olha Rivnyak).

Varvara is a winner of many international competitions and a participant in leading music festivals in Ukraine and abroad. Among her musical achievements: Ysaye International Music Competition (Liege, Belgium, July, 2019) – First Prize; Odesa International Violin Competition (Odesa, Ukraine, June, 2018) – Third Prize; III All-Ukrainian Violin Competition (Lviv, Ukraine, 2017) – First Prize; IX International Violin Contest (Namur, Belgium, 2013) – First Prize;
Varvara has participated in music festivals in Austria, Georgia, Israel, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland.
Since 2017 she has been a member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine (YSOU)
Varvara participates in master classes of such famous violinists as Oleh Kaskiv, Oleksander Brusylovskyi, Borys Garlytskyi, Borys Kushnir, Valeriy Sokolov, Oleksiy Semenenko.

In Ukraine she is active as a concert soloist, as well as participating in chamber ensembles and orchestras as a member and a guest accompanist. From 2019 she receives grant support from the VERE MUSIC FUND.
