The “First Violin” project at the LvivMozArt 2019

August 4, 7 pm, Lviv Philharmonic, Tchaikovsky St., 7.

Young Ukrainian violinists, who have recently became laureates of the prestigious international competitions, are playing in one concert, pieces that brought them world recognition. Their partners in this program are the best Ukrainian pianists with the same brilliant competitive history.

Ticket Price: 1 (one) hryvnia.

The program includes Sergey Prokofiev, Gabriel Fauré, Francis Poulenc, Maurice Ravel, Camille Saint-Saëns – Eugène Ysaÿe, Pablo de Sarasate.

A journalist asked one famous violinist how he evaluates himself according to the professional ranking. The musician said, “I’m the second.” “Who is the first?” – asked surprised journalist. “Oh, there are many firsts…”.

This joke is only a bit funny. In fact, there aren’t ever enough of firsts. And we gathered them together to show how those who became first could sound today; not for the sake of loud regalia, but for the sake of true professional life. And, of course, for the sake of inspiration for those who are just beginning their musical journey.

The “First Violin” project was created within the framework of the LvivMozArt festival by the VERE MUSIC FUND charity foundation, which provides grants to young Ukrainian musicians for the participation in the international competitions and master classes.

Violinists Yuliia Van – Violinist, Vasyl Zatsikha – violinist, Eva Rabchevska, Violinist, Margarita Pochebut – Violinist, Dmytro Udovychenko, Violinist, Roman Kholmatov – violinist; pianists Roman Lopatynskyi, Pianist, Elizaveta Pochebut – Pianist, Artem Yasynskyy / Артём Ясинский and Danylo Saienko, Pianist are participating in the project.
