Maksym Shadko

Maksym Shadko was born in 1993 in Kharkiv (Ukraine). He studied at the Kharkiv Specialized Music School (class of Professor Natalia Avramenko) and at the Kharkiv National Ivan Kotlyarevsky University of Arts (class of Professor Tetiana Verkina). He received his PhD in Music in 2022.

Maksym is laureate of numerous international competitions, among them are International Vladimir Krainev Young Pianists Competition (2004, Ukraine, 2 prize), International competition “Night in Madrid” (2014, Spain, 1 prize), International competition in memory of Borys Lyatoshinsky (2014, France, special prize), First open contest of music art “Kharkiv assemblies” (2016, Ukraine, 1 prize), Kyiv international piano competition (2018, Ukraine, 2 prize), Piano competition Franz Liszt Center (2021, Spain, 2 prize).

In 2013 and 2014 years Maksym became a co-founder of International festival of young composers and performers “Days of new music in Kharkiv”.

Pianist is repeadly performed as a soloist with National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, Odesa Philharmonic Orchestra, Kharkiv Philharmonic Orchestra, Academic Symphony orchestra of the Lviv National Philharmonic, Young Symphony Orchestra “Slobogansky”.

Since 2023 he is a soloist of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.

Maksym has participate in the master classes of professors Dmitri Alexeev, Milana Chernyavska, Pavel Gililov, Sergei Edelmann, Wolfgang Manz, Giuliano Mazzoccante, Lev Natochenny and master classes of Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy (Lahr/Germany). In 2020, he was personally selected by maestro Murray Perahia to participate in his master class, organized by the authoritative music publishing house G. Henle on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s birth.

In 2023, he attended master classes of Wilhelm Kempff Cultural Foundation (Positano, Italy).

From 2018 VERE MUSIC FUND is supporting Maksym by providing a grant.
