Stanislav Guminiuk is a graduate of the Ukrainian National Academy of Music (Professor Oksana Ryndenko’s class). In 2021, he graduated from the Academy’s creative postgraduate programme and was the first in Ukraine to receive a Doctor of Arts degree. He has been teaching at the Academy (since 2018) and Borys Hrinchenko Kyiv University (since 2017). Since 2022, he has been working as an associate professor.
Winner and prize-winner of many international piano competitions, including the S. Richter International Competition in Zhytomyr (2006), the International Competition of Young Pianists C. Bechstein (2011), the Valberg Piano Ensemble Competition (France, 2011), the Art of the 21st Century Competition in Kaunas (Lithuania, 2015), the International Jean Françaix Competition (Paris, France, 2016), the Volodymyr Horowitz International Competition and the Kyiv International Competition (Ukraine, 2017), and the Flame and IMPF international competitions (France, 2019).
He has performed solo and with orchestra in concert halls in the UK, Germany, Czech Republic, France, Lithuania, and Ukraine. He has played with symphony and chamber orchestras conducted by Filippo Conti, Gina Grassi, Aidar Torybaev, Vitalii Protasov, Viktoria Zhadko, Ihor Palkin, Mykola Lysenko, Iosyp Sozanskyi, Ihor Puchkov, and Antonii Kedrovskyi.
He improved his skills in the masterclasses of Armen Babakhanyan, Boris Bloch, Lev Vinocour, Vladimir Viardo, Svitlana Yeganian, Martin Kasik, Oleksii Liubimov, Philippe Raskin, Massimiliano Feratti, Norma Fisher, and Claude Françaix.
The pianist’s repertoire includes works of the Baroque and Classical periods, the piano heritage of Romantic composers, a wide range of twentieth-century works from C. Debussy and M. Ravel to avant-garde composers and music of his contemporaries.
He is the author of scientific publications on the works of prominent pianists and composers, problems of piano performance and interpretation.
He is a regular participant in contemporary music festivals, co-coordinator of the All-Ukrainian Festival of Contemporary Music “Modern Music Workshop”, where he gave the premiere performances in Ukraine of outstanding works by L. Ornstein, H. Cowell, J. Cage, T. Takemitsu, G. Cancelli, V. Vyshynsky, G. Pitts.
Since 2017, he has been receiving grant support from the VERE MUSIC FUND.
